I uninstalled server express before installing my SQL Server disc which is titled MS SQL Server 2005 Developer edition. I copied the following version info from the About sub menu when I click on help with the SQL Server Management Studio open. The server connection issue arose when I tried to browse for it when it did not show up on the drop down list as the tutorial said it would. Although it shows on the registered server list I can not get it to connect. Specifically, I am trying to connect the AdventureWorks Database server to the Database Engine as detailed in lesson 1 of the SQL management tutorial, which is part of the Documentation and Tutorials Package. I am running Windows XP home edition and the SQL 2005 Server disc I installed came with the Academic version of Visual Studio 2008. I have been down this path several times and can't get pst this point. and concludes by identifying itself as MS SQL Server error 53. Sql server was not available or not accessible.
I clik yes I eventually get an error message saying".aaaaa network related or instance specific error occured while attempting to connect tto the server. This mat take a few moments do I want to continue.
Modify the above trigger to execute its check code only if the ListPrice column is updated (Use AdventureWorks Database). When I click on Browser select I get a dialog box saying that to search the availabl server databases it is necessary to connect to the SQL server. Write a trigger for the Product table to ensure the list price can never be raised more than 15 Percent in a single change. The product title for Oracle 11gR2 on Windows (32-bit), as an example, is Oracle Database Gateways 11g Release 2 (11.2.0.1.0) for Microsoft Windows (32-bit) and is found under the download section for Databases at OTN. I am only offered Default and browser select. When I go to connection properties tab and go to the connect to database line it is not on the dropdown list. Under the generel tab I type in it's name as instructed.
When I try to attach it using the new server Registration Dialog box it does not work. It has a circle next to it but it does not have the little conection arrow the default server does. When I view the Registered Servers Window it shows up on the top line with the default server below it.
I downloaded the AdventureWorks Datasbase for server2005 and installed it. I am running the sql server2005 management studio tuutorial.
